Introduction to Annotated Bibliography

To begin, for the annotated bibliography, we were required to find 4 peer-reviewed, scholarly, original research articles on a narrow topic of our choosing. The format consisted of placing the full CSE citation of the article before the summary of each article, and going in alphabetical order. One of the most difficult parts of this assignment was choosing a topic to research, as it was hard for me to concentrate my focus on one specific topic. I would often find myself getting side-tracked by other topics and found it tedious to find original research on one particular topic, which required me to enhance my research skills. This ties into the seventh learning outcome, which states “practice using various library resources, online databases, and the Internet to locate sources appropriate to your writing projects.” I was required to use these databases to locate articles, and this assignment improved my skills in researching relevant information for my projects. Hence, the annotated bibliography was a learning experience that shaped my experience as a writer in part.
